Benjamin Moukandjo, who has been sidelined for three months, is gradually finding his form again. He made a comeback last Friday against Troyes during the 25th day of Ligue 2, playing a few minutes.
Reflecting on his return, the Cameroon international acknowledged, “This quarter of an hour can free me, because there was inevitably a little apprehension.” He added, “I’m not 100% yet, but on the right track. In the desire, I am even ready to start this derby. It’s up to the coach to decide, but whenever he calls on me, I will be there.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming 26th day of Ligue 2, where Nancy will face Metz in a highly anticipated derby between the league leader and the 6th-ranked team, Moukandjo’s potential full recovery could be crucial. If he continues to regain his form, he may well earn a spot in the Indomitable Lions squad for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
