Namibia coach Collin Benjamin names provisional squad for AFCON 2027 qualifiers

Namibia head coach Collin Benjamin has announced his provisional squad for the Brave Warriors’ upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Congo and Comoros.

Benjamin has selected a 28-man provisional squad as Namibia begin preparations for the crucial qualifying campaign, with the technical team expected to assess the players before finalising the squad for the two fixtures.

The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talents, with players from clubs in Namibia and across the African continent included.

The inclusion of experienced players such as Orlando Pirates forward Deon Hotto and Young African striker Peter Shalulile provides Benjamin with proven options in attack, while the squad also contains several players who will be looking to establish themselves at international level.

The Brave Warriors will be hoping to make a strong start to their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign, with the matches against Congo and Comoros expected to play an important role in their hopes of securing qualification for the continental tournament.

Benjamin will now use the preparation period to work with his players and fine-tune his plans ahead of the qualifiers.
