Naj Razi: Ireland attacking midfielder linked with Shamrock Rovers move

Naj Razi has completed a move to Shamrock Rovers, returning to the Dublin club as a free agent after a spell in Italy and a brief period without a team. The attacking midfielder joins the League of Ireland Premier Division side on a deal that begins on 2026-02-07 and is scheduled to run until 2026-12-31, with no transfer fee involved in the switch from his “Without Club” status.

The 19-year-old, who is listed as having Irish and Algerian nationality, arrives at Tallaght as a player valued at €275k, according to the most recent market valuation. His signing immediately boosts Shamrock Rovers’ creative options in the final third, with Razi primarily operating as an attacking midfielder and able to use both feet.

Razi’s return to Shamrock Rovers marks the latest step in a career that has already taken him through several levels of the Irish champions’ structure and then on to Italy. He first moved from Shamrock Rovers Academy to the first team in 2023, before earning a transfer to Como Primavera in February 2024. That move exposed him to Italian youth football and a different tactical environment, as he featured in the youth setup of the Serie B club’s Primavera side.

After his stint in Italy, Razi left Como Primavera in 2025 and became unattached when his spell there ended, officially moving to “Without Club” in early September of that year. His market value at that point stood at €275k, a slight decrease from his peak valuation of €300k while at Como Primavera, but still notable for a teenager. From there, he remained without a club until Shamrock Rovers moved to secure his signature ahead of the new campaign.

Born in Tallaght and standing 1.75m tall, Razi now effectively comes home to the club where he developed, with the move placing him back into the Premier Division. His previous experience in that league with Shamrock Rovers and his time in Italy with Como Primavera give him a blend of domestic and international exposure that is relatively advanced for his age.

The transfer also continues a pattern in his career of alternating between Shamrock Rovers and opportunities abroad: academy to first team, then to Como Primavera, then a period unattached, and now back to Tallaght. With his dual-nationality background and youth on his side, the upcoming spell at Shamrock Rovers offers him a platform to re-establish his market value and potentially attract further attention in Ireland or overseas once his current deal, which runs until 2026-12-31, nears its conclusion.
