Naim Sliti Confirms Departure from Dijon After Playoff Heroics
Naim Sliti has announced that he will leave Dijon FCO this summer, ending his chapter in Burgundy on a high note. The 26-year-old Tunisian playmaker was instrumental in Dijon’s 3-1 victory over RC Lens in the second leg of the promotion/relegation playoff, a result that secured the club’s Ligue 1 status for the next season.
“That was probably my last match with Dijon. I don’t have any offers yet, but there are talks. I hope I’ll leave… And I’m happy because if I leave, I’ll leave on a high note by leaving the club in Ligue 1,” Sliti told beIN Sports following the match.
Sliti’s contribution this season has been significant. He scored three goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances, helping Dijon navigate a challenging campaign in France’s top flight. Under contract until 2022, the former Lille player is already in discussions with several clubs, though he has not confirmed any specific destination.
His departure follows shortly after that of fellow Tunisian Oussama Haddadi, who joined Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, marking a notable shift in Dijon’s squad ahead of the new season. Sliti leaves the club as one of its most influential players, having delivered crucial performances when it mattered most, particularly in the playoff against Lens.
This move opens a new chapter in Sliti’s career as he looks to continue his development and take on fresh challenges, likely in a more competitive league or at a club with continental ambitions. Dijon will need to rebuild their midfield creativity following the loss of their standout performer.
