Nacional explore move for Basaksehir midfielder Matchoi Djalo

Portugal and Guinea-Bissau midfielder Matchoi Djalo is being linked with a move from Turkish club Basaksehir to Portuguese side Nacional.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder returned to Basaksehir on 30 June after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Polish club Wisla Plock. He has yet to feature for the Turkish side this season, despite Basaksehir being involved in two possible Conference League qualifying matches.

Djalo joined Basaksehir from Pacos Ferreira on a free transfer in July 2024, having developed through the Portuguese club’s academy. His previous loan spell at Wisla Plock was arranged in August 2025 before he returned to Istanbul at the end of the campaign.

A move to Nacional would represent a return to Portugal for the Bissau-born player, who holds Portuguese and Guinea-Bissauan nationality. He is valued at €500,000 and is under contract with Basaksehir until 30 June 2027, meaning any permanent deal would require an agreement between the clubs.

Djalo has not made an appearance or recorded a goal or assist in Basaksehir’s current Conference League qualifying campaign. The reported interest from Nacional comes with the midfielder back at his parent club following his season in Poland.
