Nabil Ghilas Poised for Exit as FC Porto Seek to Offload Striker
Algerian forward Nabil Ghilas is reportedly on the brink of leaving FC Porto this summer amid limited opportunities and increased competition at the Portuguese club.
Signed by Porto last season, Ghilas has struggled to secure regular playing time, with the arrival of new signings, including Spanish striker Adrián from Atlético Madrid, further diminishing his chances to feature prominently in the squad. As a result, the 26-year-old is eager for a fresh start to revive his career.
Porto appear ready to part ways with Ghilas, who was signed for a reported €4 million for 50% of his playing rights. Multiple clubs have shown interest in the striker, with Sporting Braga emerging as the leading candidate for a loan deal. Negotiations are underway between the two Portuguese sides, with Braga keen to bolster their attacking options.
In addition to domestic interest, Porto have also received an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Nasr, according to the Portuguese newspaper Record. While the exact terms and the player’s preference remain unclear, the possibility of a move outside Europe adds another dimension to the ongoing transfer saga.
For Ghilas, a move away from Porto offers the chance to gain much-needed minutes on the pitch and regain form ahead of the crucial phases of his career. Porto, meanwhile, aim to optimize their squad following several high-profile acquisitions and maintain a competitive edge domestically and in Europe.
The coming weeks will be decisive in determining Ghilas’s next destination as the summer transfer window approaches its close.
