Zamalek fans are holding their breath as midfielder Nabil Emad Donga pushes through treatment in a bid to feature in the highly anticipated summit clash against rivals Al Ahly on Monday.

His presence could be a major boost for coach Yannick Ferreira, who knows how much the fans want to see the team strong in this fierce Egyptian Premier League showdown.

A source within Zamalek’s medical staff shared encouraging news about the midfielder’s recovery. “Medical tests revealed that Donga’s injury is a bruise in one of his ribs, and he is undergoing an intensive treatment program,” the source explained.

The update offered more hope as the source added: “The player’s chances of making it to the match are strong, and his final position will be decided in Friday’s training session. The team will be given a day off tomorrow, by decision of coach Yannick Ferreira.”

There was also relief about Omar Jaber’s situation. The source confirmed: “The player was suffering from a sprained ankle and has fully recovered and is ready for the match.”
