Egyptian midfielder Nabil Dunga is being linked with a move from Zamalek to Saudi Pro League side Al-Najma, according to transfer data emerging from Egypt.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder, currently valued at €1.20m, has surfaced as a potential target for the Saudi club, with the latest rumour placing him on Al-Najma’s radar as they look to reinforce the spine of their team. While no fee, contract length or firm probability has been confirmed – the report lists the likelihood of the move only as “?” – the interest adds to growing speculation over his future at Zamalek.

Dunga’s contractual situation is unclear in the available data, with no expiry date recorded on his current deal at the Cairo giants. That ambiguity has fuelled talk that he could, at some stage, become available on more flexible terms, including the possibility of leaving as a free agent if no extension is in place. For now, however, he remains a Zamalek player and the links to Al-Najma are firmly in the realm of rumour rather than imminent agreement.

Born on 6 April 1996, the 1.79m right-footed midfielder has built his career in Egyptian football, progressing from Beni Ebeid Club to Pyramids FC in 2016 before earning his move to Zamalek in September 2022. His market value rose steadily during his Pyramids spell, peaking around €1.30m after his switch to Zamalek, and has most recently been assessed at €1.20m while playing in the Egyptian Premier League.

The Egypt international’s primary role as a screening midfielder could appeal to Al-Najma as they navigate the increasingly competitive Saudi Pro League landscape. Should a transfer eventually materialise, the move would mark Dunga’s first venture outside Egypt and could prove a defining step, testing his game at a new level and potentially reshaping both his reputation and long-term trajectory in Middle Eastern football.
