Algerian midfielder, Nabil Bentaleb has opened up on what kept him going after he suffered a cardiac arrest in June 2024.
According to him, the thoughts of his family including his parents, his wife, and his agent inspired him to stay strong through those tough moments.
Thanks to a successful recovery, Nabil Bentaleb returned to action over the weekend when he featured and scored for Lille in the French Ligue 1 encounter against Stade Rennais.
Speaking in an interview with DAZN, the midfielder said he worked hard to make his return.
“Entering the field and helping friends, I’ve been visualizing this for six months. I had become like a scout in the stands, to analyse everything, I worked hard to come back in recent months.
“The most important thing is my health. I thought of my family, my older brother, my agents who are like brothers, my wife, my children, my parents, my sisters. It was this whole circle that allowed me to hold on and to be able to dream of returning to a field,” Nabil Bentaleb stated.
Bentaleb is now focused on improving his help and getting back to his best to be able to help Lille in the remaining games of the 2024/25 football season.
