Cameroonian international Arthur Avom has set an ambitious target to win the UEFA Champions League, World Cup and AFCON before calling it a quit.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who currently plies his trade for French outfit Lorient is determined to push the boundaries as he seeks to attain greater heights of his career.
Avom was a member of the Cameroon squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, falling short to host nation, Morocco.
The AFCON elimination will not be a setback for Avom, who is poised to achieve great things at both international and club level.
For Avom, he wants to be remembered at the end of his career, reiterating his desire to win the Champions League, World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
‘My goal? To win the Champions League, the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations. Even if this time it ended in the quarter-finals, the dream continues,’ Avom told L’Equipe.
Since making his debut for Cameroon in 2023, the midfielder has made 12 appearances for the Indomitable Lions, scoring one goal in the process.
This season, Avom has made 18 appearances in the French Ligue 1 for Lorient, delivering an assist.
