My goal celebration against Al Ahly is a gift to Zamalek fans – National Bank SC winger Mustafa Shalaby

National Bank SC striker Mustafa Shalaby has dedicated his goal celebration against Al Ahly to Zamalek fans.

The 31-year-old attacker, who is a former player for Zamalek was on target when National Bank played out a 1-1 stalemate against Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League.

Shalaby broke the deadlock in the 11th-minute mark before Al Ahly leveled the pegging in the 80th-minute through Mahmoud Trezeguet. Both teams searched for the match-winner in the dyeing embers of the match, but neither could find a decisive breakthrough as the game ended in a draw.

“My celebration of my goal against Al Ahly with a bow and arrow is a gift to the Zamalek fans, and any player would certainly wish to be with the White Castle.” He told ON Sport.

“We practiced my goal against Al-Ahly and I implemented the instructions of coach Ayman Al-Ramadi in this game.”

“Our goal is to finish the first round in the top 7 teams and then finish the league in the top four so that we can participate in Africa next season, and I also hope to join the Egyptian national team.”

“I shook hands with Zidane before the match and we were laughing together, but I didn’t meet him after the match because he was injured and left early.”

“My best version was the second season with Enppi, and with Gomez and Osorio at Zamalek, but I was always suffering injuries that kept me away from the field, and therefore there was no continuity,” he stressed.

“I am not affected by pressure, and at Zamalek I was doing well and participating as a mainstay with all the coaches, but I lacked luck due to injuries.”

“I thank the Zamalek fans for my time with the White Knights and I ask them to continue supporting the team”

National Bank have accumulated 21 points after 15 matches into the season, placing them ninth on the league standings.
