MUSTAPHA YATABARÉ RETURNS TO LIGUE 1 WITH MONTPELLIER
Mustapha Yatabaré is back in France. The Malian international striker has signed a one-year loan deal with Montpellier from Trabzonspor in Turkey. The agreement includes an option to buy.
Yatabaré, who made his name in Ligue 1 with Guingamp between 2011 and 2014, returns after a challenging spell in Turkey where he struggled for game time.
Currently enduring a difficult start to the season, Montpellier has picked up just one point from their first four matches. The club is hoping Yatabaré’s arrival can breathe new life into their attack.
“A complete, fast, powerful striker, a good finisher and influential in the game, he brings all his qualities to the Hérault team. His inclusion alongside the club’s other attacking assets already promises a lot,” the club stated on its website.
Now 29, Yatabaré will be aiming to revive his career and make an impact in a squad in need of goals and experience.
