Sudanese wonderkid Musa Hussein has seen his chance to shine in England halted, as Al-Merrikh rejected a formal trial request from Queens Park Rangers.

The 18-year-old left winger, who also plays as a right winger and second striker, was set to join the English club for a three-week assessment.

The plan was simple, train with the team, take part in behind-closed-doors friendlies, and earn a shot at a professional contract. It would have been a groundbreaking moment, the first-ever invitation from an English side to a Sudanese player.

But Al-Merrikh denied the move, citing internal reasons. The decision has sparked disappointment among fans, as many saw the trial as a unique milestone for both Musa and Sudanese football.

With just 10 months remaining on his contract, questions now surround his next step. Musa began his journey with Al-Merrikh U20 and quickly rose through the ranks. While the path to England is blocked for now, his talent and drive continue to fuel hope for future opportunities.
