Munir Mohamedi battles to be fit for RS Berkane’s African Super Cup clash with Pyramids FC
Munir Mohamedi is racing against time to recover in order to be part of RS Berkane’s big night in the CAF Super Cup against Egypt’s Pyramids FC.
The Moroccan goalkeeper, who recently picked up a shoulder injury while representing his country in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zambia, has been under close medical care as the club pushes to have him fit for the decisive clash.
The medical team at RS Berkane are working tirelessly on his rehabilitation, following a treatment plan designed to give him the best chance of returning in time for the match. A source revealed to Kooora that coach Moeen Chaabani will rest Mohamedi in league matches leading up to the Super Cup to protect him from further damage. The focus remains on ensuring he can start in Cairo.
As Confederation Cup winners, Berkane face Champions League holders Pyramids FC on October 18 at the Air Defense Stadium. However, defender Yassin El-Bahri will miss out as he continues recovery from ligament surgery, expected back early next year.
