Muhammad Abdullahi: Nigerian defender joins Jihlava from Remo Stars Academy

Nigerian centre-back Muhammad Abdullahi has joined Czech side Jihlava from Remo Stars Youth Academy, completing a move that takes the 18-year-old into European football for the first time.

Abdullahi, who was born on 29 August 2007, arrives in the Czech National Football League outfit as a specialist central defender. The transfer was finalised on 15 July 2026, with the teenager leaving the youth set-up of Remo Stars in Nigeria to link up with his new club in Jihlava.

The move caps a breakthrough spell for Abdullahi, who caught the eye during his time with Remo Stars’ academy sides. He featured at the Viareggio Cup, making two appearances in the prestigious youth tournament and collecting a winners’ medal in the 2023-24 edition with the Nigerian club’s youth team.

Those outings in Italy provided Abdullahi with his first taste of international competition, and he played 38 minutes across the games in which he was involved. His role in that campaign contributed to Remo Stars Youth Academy securing the Viareggio title, a notable achievement for both player and club.

Listed primarily as a defender who operates at centre-back, Abdullahi now links up with FC Vysocina Jihlava as he begins the next phase of his development in the Czech game. The Nigerian youth product’s move from Remo Stars Youth Academy to Jihlava is confirmed for the 2026-27 season.
