Liga Muçulmana secured the Mozambique football championship title two days before the end of the season. After 24 rounds, the newly crowned champion is now unreachable at the top of the standings, having clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over the relegated Matchedje.
With a commanding lead of 10 points, Liga Muçulmana boasts 51 points, leaving Ferroviaro Beira as the runner-up, despite their 2-0 win against Maxaquene.
This marks Liga Muçulmana’s third championship title, adding to their victories in 2010 and 2011. The club now ranks as the fifth most successful team in Mozambique, trailing behind Costa del Sol and Ferroviario Maputo (with 9 titles each), Grupo Desportivo (with 6 titles), and Maxaquene (with 4 titles).
