Cameroonian Cycling Mourns Loss of Federation President Moustapha Dogo
Cameroonian sport has been dealt a heavy blow with the sudden passing of Moustapha Dogo, president of the Cameroonian Cycling Federation. According to APA reports, Dogo collapsed on Wednesday during a meeting at the Ministry of Sports and, despite emergency evacuation efforts, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His death comes at a critical time, as he was actively coordinating preparations for the upcoming Chantal Biya International Cycling Grand Prix, a key event in the region’s cycling calendar. Notably, the event was set to feature participation from Côte d’Ivoire, with six riders confirmed.
Moustapha Dogo had led the federation since 2013, a tenure marked by efforts to revitalize Cameroonian cycling and elevate its regional presence. His unexpected passing leaves a leadership vacuum at a pivotal moment for the sport in the country.
Tributes are expected to pour in from across the sports community, both in Cameroon and beyond, as cycling loses one of its passionate advocates.
