Egyptian midfielder Moustafa Ashraf has landed in the Netherlands to begin a new chapter with Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem, ending speculation about a potential return to Egypt.
The 21-year-old has officially signed with Vitesse from German Bundesliga outfit Borussia monchengladbach. The contract will keep him at the Dutch club until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend by an additional year based on mutual agreement.
Speaking to Vitesse’s official website, Ashraf said his previous time training with the squad helped him settle in quickly. “I am very excited about this new step in my career, and I hope to perform well and help the team achieve its goals.”
Ashraf’s move comes after a failed attempt by Egyptian giants Al Ahly to bring him back home last season. Talks between the club and the player reached an advanced stage, but the deal eventually collapsed due to financial and technical issues.
This transfer marks a major opportunity for Ashraf to establish himself in European football and continue his growth on a competitive stage.
