Malian U20 international Moussa Konfolo Yeo delivered a crucial performance for RB Salzburg, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 victory against LASK on Saturday, August 17, in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The match, held at the Raiffeisen Arena, saw Salzburg travel to Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub’s home turf with high expectations.

The Salzburg squad, under the guidance of coach Pepijn Lijnders, sought to maintain their strong start to the season.

Yeo, who has quickly become a standout player for the team, did not start the match but made a significant impact upon entering in the 60th minute.

Just four minutes later, the 20-year-old left winger broke the deadlock, putting Salzburg ahead with a well-placed shot that left the LASK defense scrambling.

Yeo’s goal, coming in the 64th minute, silenced the Raiffeisen Arena and ultimately secured all three points for Salzburg.

Despite LASK’s efforts to equalize, Salzburg’s defense held firm, and the match concluded with a 1-0 scoreline after four minutes of added time.

This victory further solidifies Salzburg’s position in the Austrian Bundesliga as they continue to chase the top spot.

Yeo’s performance in this match adds to his impressive statistics for the 2024-2025 season. Over the course of six matches, the Malian winger has now scored three goals and provided two assists across all competitions.

Specifically, Yeo has netted two goals and registered one assist in the Bundesliga, while contributing one goal and one assist in the UEFA Champions League preliminaries.

His contributions have been instrumental in Salzburg’s strong start to the season.

Since joining RB Salzburg from Guidars FC in June 2023, Yeo has quickly established himself as a key player in the squad.

His ability to make an impact, even when coming off the bench, has earned him praise from both fans and analysts alike.

Although he did not score in Salzburg’s Austrian Cup first-round match, his performances in the league and European competitions suggest that he is poised for a breakthrough season.

Salzburg’s victory over LASK not only highlights Yeo’s individual talent but also underscores the team’s resilience and depth.

As the season progresses, Yeo will likely continue to be a pivotal figure for Salzburg as they aim for both domestic and international success.

Coach Pepijn Lijnders will undoubtedly be pleased with the young winger’s contributions and will look to maximize his potential as Salzburg navigates the challenges of the 2024-2025 season.

With Yeo’s current form, the Salzburg faithful can expect more thrilling performances as the campaign unfolds.
