Moussa Maazou is set to restart his career in the Gulf after spending several months without a club following the termination of his contract with RC Lens in December 2018. The Nigerien forward has signed with Ohod Club, a team competing in the Saudi Arabian league.
Ohod currently find themselves at the bottom of the table, occupying 16th place with just five matches remaining in the season. They sit seven points behind the 13th-placed team, who occupy the relegation playoff spot, meaning Maazou’s experience could prove crucial in their fight to avoid demotion.
The signing marks the 17th club in Maazou’s career, which has previously included stints with notable European sides such as Bordeaux and Monaco. At Ohod, he will join a squad featuring other international players, including Algerian Carl Medjani, Tunisian Aymen Belaïd, and Cameroonian Adolphe Teikeu, adding depth and experience to the team.
Maazou’s arrival offers both the player and the club a chance for a fresh start. For the forward, it is an opportunity to regain form and showcase his talents in a competitive league, while Ohod will rely on his attacking ability as they seek to climb out of the relegation zone in the closing stages of the season.
