Roy Keane Slams Mourinho for Touchline Disrespect: “It’s a Disgrace”
Never one to hold back, Roy Keane has launched a scathing attack on José Mourinho, accusing the Portuguese manager of disrespect during a Premier League match between Chelsea and Aston Villa. The incident in question occurred when Mourinho left the touchline early to head toward the dressing room — a gesture Keane, currently assistant manager at Villa, took serious issue with.
“I don’t care about any of that, but it’s still playing out on the pitch. It’s outrageous,” Keane fumed during a promotional event for his latest book. “I’ve seen him do the same to other managers. It’s a disgrace. The game’s still going on. You wouldn’t do that on a Sunday morning or you’d get hit.”
When asked directly whether he thought Mourinho was arrogant and disrespectful, Keane snapped:
“What do you think? That’s a stupid question! Of course you do!”
Known for his fiery temperament and blunt honesty, Keane’s comments are likely to add further fuel to the ongoing debate over Mourinho’s touchline antics and sportsmanship — or lack thereof.
