Mourinho introduces giant touch-screen display at Real Madrid training

Jose Mourinho has introduced a giant mobile screen at Real Madrid’s training centre in Valdebebas, allowing him to analyse tactical errors with his players on the pitch ahead of the derby against Atletico Madrid.

The screen has been installed beside training pitches 1 and 2, where the first team work, and can be moved around the complex. Positioned close to the playing surface, it enables Mourinho to stop a session and immediately show players the movements he wants to correct.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the equipment functions as an advanced digital tactics board. It can display formations, tactical diagrams and player movements, while also allowing the coaching staff to replay specific incidents and show video clips of opponents.

Rather than relying solely on theoretical explanations in a meeting room, Mourinho can now present a particular passage of play on the screen, explain what happened and then reproduce the required movement directly on the training pitch.

Analysis brought into training

The change is designed to reduce Real Madrid’s dependence on lengthy video sessions held indoors. Mourinho and his coaching staff want tactical analysis to become quicker, more interactive and easier for the squad to understand.

The staff believe that showing an instruction in the same place where an error occurred can help players absorb the message more quickly. It also allows the group to remain focused while the training session continues.

Real Madrid’s players have responded positively to the approach, welcoming the direct and interactive method adopted by their manager. The move reflects Mourinho’s efforts to refine the team’s daily working practices and introduce greater detail into training.

The screen was brought into use one day before Real Madrid’s eagerly anticipated derby against Atletico Madrid. The match is the headline fixture of the seventh round of the Spanish league.
