President Patrice Motsepe, head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), exhibited generosity by donating USD 500,000 through the Motsepe Foundation to both the Catholic Church and the Muslim Faith in Cote d’Ivoire.

In a meeting with Cardinal Jean-Pierre Kutwã, he presented a USD 250,000 contribution to the Catholic Church and, separately, met with Cheikhoul Aima Ousmane Diakite, President of the Superior Council of Imams, Mosques, and Islamic Affairs of Ivory Coast, to donate an equal amount to the Muslim Faith.

Expressing gratitude for the religious and spiritual endeavours of the Catholic Church and the Muslim Faith in Ivory Coast and beyond, President Motsepe underscored a commitment to collaboration with religious organizations globally.

He emphasized a dedication to uniting people across diverse backgrounds, fostering unity among different racial, ethnic, and religious groups.

This act of benevolence echoes previous contributions during the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, where President Motsepe, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe and CAF representatives also extended financial support to the Catholic Church and Muslim Faith in Cameroon.

The Motsepe Foundation’s commitment to partnering with religious and faith-based organizations signifies a broader initiative to positively impact communities across the African continent and worldwide.
