Mostafa Mohamed: Samsunspor eye Nantes’ Egypt striker in €3.50m move

Egypt centre-forward Mostafa Mohamed of FC Nantes is being linked with a summer switch to Turkish Super Lig side Samsunspor, with the move currently rated at a 61% probability according to data from Transfermarkt.

The 28-year-old, who was born in Giza and stands at 1.85m, is under contract at Nantes but his deal has no publicly listed expiry date, fuelling speculation he could yet be allowed to leave or even move on as a free agent if his situation in Ligue 1 deteriorates. His market value is put at €3.50m, a fee that would represent a mid-range outlay for Samsunspor as they look to bolster their attack.

Mohamed, a right-footed centre-forward who wears the No 31 shirt for Nantes, has been a regular presence in France’s top flight since joining the club, operating primarily through the middle of the front line. Recent league outings for the Canaries have kept him involved in the matchday picture, including his latest appearance in Ligue 1 where he featured in attack as Nantes sought crucial points in their battle for stability in the French top tier. In that game, played in early May against a fellow bottom-half rival, Nantes earned a narrow result with Mohamed leading the line, although he did not add to his goal tally on the day.

Samsunspor, established in the Süper Lig after recent campaigns of consolidation, are understood to be exploring options to add a physically strong focal point up front, and Mohamed’s profile – an experienced international-level forward with French top-flight experience – fits that requirement.

With Nantes facing another summer of squad reshaping and the Turkish club keen to exploit market opportunities around his €3.50m valuation, a move to Samsunspor could offer Mohamed a fresh platform and the chance to redefine the next phase of his career if the transfer is completed.
