Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed has opened up about his journey, reflecting on the early challenges he faced after joining French club Nantes and representing the Pharaohs.
In a candid chat with FIFA’s official website on Thursday, the forward shared how he’s settled into life in Nantes, embracing the rhythm of the game and cherishing moments with his family, friends, and supporters.
He lit up recounting his goal celebration with his four-year-old son after netting against Lille on March 15 in Ligue 1. The Egyptian star revealed it was a promise kept to his little boy, a budding football lover. “I always play with my son in the garden or at home,” he said, “and he loves football even though he is only 4 years old.”
Post-match, the celebration spilled over to the fans. “After the match, we also went to celebrate with the fans. We watched the celebration again that day on TV and repeated it at home,” he added.
For Mohamed, scoring for Nantes lifts 40,000 fans, but striking for Egypt? That’s 100 million smiles. “I make more people happy when I score for the Pharaohs,” he beamed.
