Nice could soon be home to another Egyptian star as they consider Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed to boost their frontline before the Champions League qualifiers.
According to L’Équipe, Mohamed is among the top names being considered to support Terem Moffi, with changes looming in Nice’s attack. Gaetan Laborde is set to join Saudi club Al-Diriyah, while Yvan Guisand may also exit. This reshuffle has led the French club to explore fresh options, and Mohamed’s name is reportedly high on the list.
The 27-year-old, who is under contract with Nantes until 2027, has made a notable impact in Ligue 1, netting 19 goals in 73 appearances. His consistent performances have drawn interest from clubs within France and beyond.
Though Nice hasn’t tabled a formal offer yet, the timing is key, with their Champions League campaign kicking off soon. They’re set to face Portuguese giants Benfica in the third qualifying round.
Interestingly, Mohamed wouldn’t be the only Egyptian at Nice. Defender Mohamed Abdelmoneim joined last summer but is sidelined until year’s end with a cruciate ligament injury.
