Mostafa Mohamed is fueling hopes of a triumphant World Cup run in 2026. With unwavering determination, he’s set his sights on leading the Pharaohs to their first-ever title, a bold vision shared in a recent FIFA interview.
The Nantes forward believes Egypt’s talented squad can rewrite their World Cup story after a lackluster 2018 appearance and missing 2022 entirely.
He stressed that the Egyptian national team includes great players such as Omar Marmoush, Trezeguet, and Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, expressing his confidence in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
“The last time we went to the World Cup in 2018, we did not perform well, and we did not qualify for the previous edition in 2022. We will give 100% of our effort to be present in the next edition and win there. I want to win the World Cup title, not just participate,” he said.
He explained that his role model since childhood is Amr Zaki, the former Wigan Athletic and Zamalek striker, along with Mohamed Zidan, Samuel Eto’o, and Didier Drogba.
He indicated that he loves Argentine Lionel Messi, stressing that the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France is the best match he has ever watched in a World Cup.
