Mostafa El Aash: Egypt defender leaves Al Ahly to join El Masry in €510k deal
Egypt centre-back Mostafa El Aash has joined El Masry from Al Ahly in a permanent transfer worth €510,000. The 25-year-old has signed a contract with the Port Said club until 30 June 2029.
El Aash, a left-footed central defender standing at 1.82m, returns to El Masry after spending part of last season on loan there from Al Ahly. He re-established himself in the Egyptian Premier League during that spell before going back to Cairo at the end of the campaign.
The move comes a year after Al Ahly initially secured El Aash from Zed FC for €858,000. He had first arrived at Al Ahly on loan from Zed FC in January 2025, with the deal made permanent the following summer after his performances in the top flight.
El Aash brings significant domestic and continental experience to El Masry’s back line. Across league, cup and African competition, he has made more than 140 senior appearances, including outings in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, and has played over 9,000 minutes in the Egyptian Premier League.
The defender has already collected major honours in Egyptian football. He was part of the Al Ahly squad that won the league title in the 2024-25 season and lifted the Egyptian League Cup with El Masry in 2025-26.
Having previously come through spells at YC Kom Hamada, El Mahalla and Zed FC before his time at Al Ahly, El Aash now commits his long-term future to El Masry as a permanent signing.
