Ahead of their upcoming clash against Al-Fayha in the 21st round of the Saudi Professional League, Abha FC received a significant morale boost with the recovery of Guinean striker Francois Kamano from illness, as revealed by sources close to the club.
According to these sources, Kamano, who has been sidelined due to health issues since his arrival in Abha, will rejoin training on Thursday after recuperating from the setback he faced following his international duty with the Guinea national team at the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Kamano’s participation against Al-Fayha is contingent upon the results of the tests he will undergo under the supervision of Abha FC’s coach, the South African Pitso Mosimane, to ensure his physical and technical readiness before the match.
Kamano, 27, was unable to feature in the recent match against Al-Taawoun, which ended in a 1-1 draw, marking the first league game he missed since joining Abha FC in August last year from Lokomotiv Moscow.
In his 19 league appearances for Abha, Kamano, although yet to score, has been a key figure in the team’s offensive efforts, starting in 14 matches and providing one assist, according to statistics from the Saudi Professional League.
