Morocco international Yasmine Zouhair has completed a move to Real Madrid, with the Spanish club adding one of Africa’s brightest young attacking talents to its women’s squad ahead of the new season.
The transfer marks another significant milestone in the career of the forward, who has steadily risen through the ranks in European football and is regarded as one of Morocco’s most exciting prospects.
Dream move for Moroccan forward
Zouhair expressed her delight after sealing the transfer, describing the move as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.
“A dream come true. I’m proud to announce my signing with Real Madrid.
Becoming part of this historic club is something I’ve always dreamed of.”
The move sees the Atlas Lioness join one of the biggest names in world football as Real Madrid continue strengthening their squad before the start of the new campaign.
Steady rise across Europe
Zouhair began her professional career in France with Saint-Étienne before moving to Italian side Roma.
She later continued her development in Spain after joining Real Betis on 31 July 2024 on a contract running until 2026. During her spell with Betis, she featured in 24 Liga F matches, scoring twice and registering two assists.
A bright future for Morocco
The forward has long been viewed as one of Morocco’s standout young talents.
She captained Morocco’s youth national teams and represented the country at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup before progressing to the senior side.
Zouhair has already earned four senior international caps, with her move to Real Madrid representing another major step in her career as she looks to establish herself among Africa’s leading women’s footballers.
