Morocco’s U-17 Lionesses outclassed by Brazil in FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup debut
Morocco’s U-17 women’s team faced a tough start to their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign, falling 3-0 to Brazil at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium.
The match, which marked the opening round of Group A, saw high hopes from Moroccan fans as the young Lionesses took on the legendary Brazilian side.
The first half was an open contest, but it was Brazil who capitalized with two well-taken goals. Evelyn Bonifacio struck first in the 12th minute, followed by Giovanna Figueiredo Essebe’s precise finish at the 35-minute mark. By halftime, Morocco trailed by two goals, but their persistence kept the crowd energized.
The second half saw Brazil continue their dominance, and Aline Vitoria added a third goal in the 75th minute, making a Moroccan comeback unlikely. With this result, Brazil took an early lead in Group A, earning three points, while Morocco ended the night at the bottom of the table.
Still, the tournament is far from over. Morocco prepares for a challenging matchup against Italy next Tuesday, and supporters are hopeful the team will rebound and gain valuable experience in their World Cup journey.
