Morocco’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium set to host Spain–Argentina Finalissima - Reports

The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium has reportedly become one of the leading candidates to host the highly anticipated Finalissima clash between Spain and Argentina, according to Spanish outlet AS.

The match, which brings together the champions of Europe and South America, is expected to take place at the end of March and has been described as a “World Clasico” due to the stature of the two national teams and the global attention the encounter is likely to attract.

The report explained that security concerns linked to ongoing tensions in the Middle East have prompted organisers to explore alternatives to Lusail Stadium, which had previously been considered a potential host venue for the high-profile fixture. The uncertainty surrounding the situation has opened the door for other stadiums to be considered.

In this context, the Rabat venue has entered the race strongly and is now competing with Camp Nou, the home ground of FC Barcelona, which is also among the most prominent stadiums proposed to stage the match.

According to the same source, the stadium in Rabat has attracted significant attention following its recent upgrades, receiving praise from football fans and experts for its modern architecture and advanced facilities. The venue has also been mentioned on several occasions among the candidates to be recognised as one of the world’s best stadiums in 2025.

The Finalissima encounter is expected to feature some of the biggest names in world football, including Spain’s young sensation Lamine Yamal and Argentina’s legendary forward Lionel Messi. Their presence has further increased the sporting and commercial value of the match, which has already been described as one of the most lucrative fixtures in international football.

Media reports have also highlighted the strong public demand for the match, with a large proportion of tickets reportedly sold weeks in advance at record prices, reflecting the global interest in a showdown between the European and South American champions.

Meanwhile, media outlets in Qatar have maintained that officials there remain committed to hosting the match on their soil, suggesting that discussions about moving the venue may be premature despite the recent regional tensions that have affected Doha.
