Morocco’s Hakimi faces fitness doubt after suffering thigh injury for PSG

Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi has suffered a slight injury to his right thigh during Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 victory over Brest, with his availability for the upcoming Le Classique against Marseille now in doubt.

PSG confirmed the injury after their French league return, saying the Moroccan defender will undergo treatment for two days before another medical assessment is carried out.

“A further medical assessment will be conducted at the end of this period,” PSG said.

Hakimi faces race against time for Marseille clash

Hakimi was forced to leave the action during PSG’s narrow victory over Brest, raising concerns over his fitness ahead of the meeting with Marseille on 20 September.

Although the French champions have described the injury as slight, reports suggest there are doubts about whether the 27-year-old will recover in time for the highly anticipated Le Classique.
