Former Chelsea and Ajax stars Hakim Ziyech has not quit the Moroccan national team as purported to be in the media.
Earlier reports suggested the enterprising winger has called it a quit from the national team after he was excluded from the squad.
Despite missing out on the squad for the June international break, Ziyech, who plies his trade for Qatari club Al-Duhail remains part of the national team, AfricaSoccer.com has gathered.
To a larger extent, Ziyech has not expressed any desire to retire or withdraw from representing the Moroccan national team.
Recently, Morocco head coach Walid Regragui met with both Ziyech and Romain Saiss in the Qatari capital, Doha, insisting the duo remains part of his plans.
Meanwhile, Regragui expects the pair to regain their form before earning a call up back into the national team.
The relationship between Ziyech and the technical staff, as well as the Royal Moroccan Football Federation remains strong.
