Morocco’s Amrabat to miss Zambia match due to suspension
Moroccan international Sofiane Amrabat, a player for Manchester United in English football, will be absent from the upcoming match between the Moroccan national team and Zambia on June 7th, following his dismissal in a match against South Africa in the African Cup of Nations round of 16 held in Ivory Coast.
A source within the Moroccan football federation informed Hesport that Amrabat will miss only one match, stating that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has received correspondence from the African football governing body, CAF, which stipulates the suspension of the “Atlas Lions” midfielder for the Zambia game.
“The Atlas Lion” will return to bolster the Moroccan national team in the match against Congo Brazzaville, scheduled for June 11th, as part of the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Amrabat was part of the previous “Atlas Lions” camp, which saw the team’s victory over Angola and a draw with Mauritania.
It is worth noting that Moroccan international Sofiane Amrabat is a candidate to leave Manchester United during the upcoming summer transfer window, with clubs like AC Milan in Italy, and Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in Spain, expressing interest in acquiring his services.
