Morocco youngster Yanis Benchaouch attracts huge interest after stellar display
Rising Morocco goalkeeper Yanis Benchaouch is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe, with clubs across multiple leagues monitoring his situation at AS Monaco ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old shot-stopper has attracted attention from teams in France’s lower divisions as well as Italy, where AC Monza and Modena FC are among those keeping close tabs. Interest also extends to Inter Milan’s B team setup, alongside clubs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and even the Middle East, with Al-Gharafa SC reportedly in the mix.
Despite the widespread interest, no club has yet submitted a formal offer, leaving Benchaouch’s immediate future uncertain as the transfer window approaches.
The Périgueux-born goalkeeper, who stands at an imposing 1.88 meters, enhanced his reputation last summer by winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup with Morocco—a triumph that underlined his potential on the global stage.
Interestingly, Benchaouch previously turned down a professional contract from AS Monaco, a decision that has added intrigue to his next career move. His progress has also been hampered by injury in early 2026, limiting his appearances, although he has featured twice in the Premier League International Cup U21 this season.
Since joining Monaco’s academy in 2021, Benchaouch has steadily risen through the ranks, playing a key role in the club’s youth success. He was part of the team that lifted the Coupe Gambardella in 2023, alongside promising talents Saïmon Bouabré and Aladji Bamba.
With his 20th birthday approaching on April 10, Benchaouch stands at a crossroads in his young career. The coming months could prove decisive as he weighs his options, with interest from across Europe and beyond signaling that his next step will be closely watched.
For now, the talented goalkeeper remains a player in demand—waiting for the right opportunity to take the next leap in his promising journey.
