Juventus Prospect Younès Marzouk Commits International Future to Morocco
Turin, Italy — Young striker Younès Marzouk has officially chosen to represent Morocco at the international level, ending months of speculation over his national team allegiance. The 18-year-old, who plays for Juventus’ reserve side, had previously represented France at the Under-19 level, a decision that sparked criticism from Moroccan fans at the time.
Marzouk’s agent, Youssef Moussaid, confirmed the decision in a statement to Mountakhab.net, explaining that the player had taken time to reflect before making his final commitment.
“After several weeks of reflection, Younès has definitively decided on Morocco, which has always been his heartfelt choice,” Moussaid said.
He credited Morocco’s technical director Nasser Larguet and scout Ahmed Chouari for playing key roles in guiding the young talent’s decision. Family support also proved influential.
“Thanks to Nasser Larguet and Ahmed Chouari, who met with him, Younès made the right decision. His brothers, particularly Rachid and Hamid, also played an important role,” Moussaid added.
Marzouk’s switch to Morocco is expected to be warmly received by fans of the Atlas Lions, many of whom had previously expressed disappointment when the striker initially chose to play for France. Now, his commitment marks a new chapter in his international career—one that could see him become a future star for the North African nation.
Born in France to Moroccan parents, Marzouk is one of a growing number of dual-nationality players navigating complex decisions over international representation. With his future now tied to Morocco, he will be closely watched as he continues his development at one of Europe’s top clubs.
