Morocco U-20 head coach Mohamed Wahbi says his team is fully focused on booking a spot in the final of the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations when they face Egypt on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of the semi-final clash, Wahbi stressed that his players have shown great character so far and are determined to go all the way in the tournament.
“We have to be realistic against a strong team like Egypt, and we have to take advantage of the opportunities that will be given to us, and we have to be focused and calm, so that we succeed in reaching the final.”
Wahbi underlined Morocco’s ambition to win the competition after already sealing a place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
“We want to win the tournament and go to the World Cup as African champions…”
He also praised Egypt, calling them a resilient side with special talent, while urging his squad to stay focused on their own performance regardless of external factors.
