Morocco U-17 coach Nabil Baha promises to fix mistakes after disappointing loss to Japan
Morocco’s U17 national team coach, Nabil Baha, expressed his disappointment following his side’s 2-0 defeat to Japan in the World Cup group stage in Qatar.
“It was a tough and harsh match for our young players,” Baha admitted, highlighting that while the team performed well in the first half defensively and created chances, they failed to capitalize on them. “It’s just the first game, the competition is long, and our focus now is on correcting these mistakes for the matches ahead.”
The coach stressed the importance of mental recovery after the defeat: “Honestly, it will be a sleepless night for me, but I’ve told the players to bounce back, when you start a tournament with a loss, your goal must be to win the next one.” He remains determined to make tactical changes and use the squad’s potential, stating, “We have talent that can deliver surprises.”
Baha reaffirmed his faith in the team and their chances: “Our road isn’t blocked. We’ve analyzed the match and started preparing for Portugal. The group is tough, but we’re proud of our boys and will show a better side next time.” He concluded, “No small teams exist at this stage. We’ll continue to work with hunger and hope for qualification.”
