The 2024 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League will be held in Morocco from November 9 to November 23, 2024, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced on Wednesday.

This marks another significant moment for Morocco, which successfully hosted the tournament in 2022, as well as the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in the same year.

The competition will feature eight teams, each representing different regions of Africa, further promoting the growth of women’s football across the continent.

The qualified clubs for this year’s tournament include current champions Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), host AS FAR Rabat (Morocco), Aigles de la Medina (Senegal), EDO Queens (Nigeria), University of Western Cape (South Africa), Tutankhamun (Egypt), CBE FC (Ethiopia), and TP Mazembe (DR Congo).

These teams emerged victorious from regional zonal tournaments that serve as qualifiers for the event.

The tournament has played a pivotal role in developing the women’s game in Africa, providing a platform for top clubs to showcase their talents on a continental stage.

With a prize pool of USD 400,000 for the winner and USD 250,000 for the runners-up, the competition has attracted significant attention, creating excitement ahead of the finals.

Sundowns will be looking to defend their title, while AS FAR, the 2022 champions will be eager to reclaim their crown.
