Morocco star Nayef Aguerd doubtful for Newcastle United Champions League clash

Morocco international Nayef Aguerd is a major doubt for the upcoming UEFA Champions League match between Marseille and Newcastle United.

The French Ligue 1 giants will play host to the Premier League outfit on Tuesday night, with both teams seeking for victory in the highly competitive clash.

The former West Ham United defender continues to suffer with a pubalgia issue and remains a doubt for the much-anticipated clash.

Aguerd will not be over-utilized until the 2025 African of Nations to be staged in Morocco. However, he is expected to be used in big matches, with their game against Newcastle United certainly falling into the category.

But his presence for the Newcastle United fixture remains a doubt, as the club continues manage his return to action.

Aguerd traveled to join Morocco during the November international break, but was unable to feature for the North African country.

The 29-year-old centre-back has made three appearances out four games in the Champions League this season.
