Morocco star Ismail Saibari returns to PSV to bid farewell after Bayern Munich switch

Moroccan international Ismail Saibari returned to the Netherlands to bid farewell to PSV Eindhoven, following his summer move to Bayern Munich.

The Dutch giants welcomed their former midfielder back with a warm message after helping his new employers to secure the German Super Cup over Dortmund.

 “We are happy to see you again, Ismail. We are proud of you.” Wrote the club.

The emotional return highlighted the strong relationship between Saibari and the Dutch club, where he spent six seasons after joining from Genk in the summer of 2020.

Saibari completed his move to Bayern Munich on July 1, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2031. PSV described the transfer as a record-breaking deal for the club.

During his time in Eindhoven, the 25-year-old progressed through the ranks and became an important member of the first team. He helped PSV win three consecutive Eredivisie titles, two domestic cups and three Dutch Super Cups.

His outstanding 2025-26 campaign was capped by being named Eredivisie Player of the Year.

Saibari’s departure from PSV has already been followed by a dream start to life in Germany.

On Saturday, he made his competitive debut for Bayern Munich and immediately lifted silverware as the Bavarian giants defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to win the German Super Cup.

The Morocco international now wears the No. 34 shirt at Bayern and arrives at the club following a strong 2026 World Cup campaign, during which he scored three goals in the group stage.

After helping PSV dominate Dutch football, Saibari has begun a new chapter in Germany—and has already added his first major trophy with Bayern Munich.
