Morocco star Ismail Saibari excited for first Allianz Arena appearance after Bayern Munich move
Morocco international Ismail Saibari has expressed his excitement about beginning his Bayern Munich journey, admitting that playing his first match at the iconic Allianz Arena will be a dream come true.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who recently completed his move to the Bundesliga champions, is eagerly looking forward to making his debut in front of the Bayern supporters at one of football’s most famous stadiums.
Speaking in comments published on Bayern Munich’s official website, Saïbari revealed that he has never previously played at the Allianz Arena and described his upcoming first appearance there as a moment he will never forget.
“I’m very excited about the Allianz Arena. I’ve never played there before, and the first time will definitely be special,” Saïbari said.
The Moroccan star’s comments came during his first visit to Munich since completing his transfer to Bayern. Accompanied by members of his family, Saibari toured the club’s famous training headquarters on Säbener Straße, where he was introduced to the facilities and welcomed by several members of the club’s staff.
The visit marked another important milestone following his arrival at the German giants, giving him the opportunity to familiarise himself with his new surroundings before officially beginning work with the squad.
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl also spoke about the club’s decision to sign the Moroccan international, stressing that the move had been planned long before Saibari’s impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Eberl, Bayern had been closely monitoring the midfielder’s development for an extended period and moved quickly to secure his signature because they were convinced of his long-term potential.
“The most important thing for us is that we acted early to sign him because we knew Ismail’s potential, and we were able to present him with a clear vision for his future with us from the start,” Eberl said.
His remarks underline Bayern’s confidence that Saïbari can become an important part of the club’s future rather than being a signing made solely on the back of his World Cup displays.
Saïbari enjoyed an outstanding tournament with Morocco, further enhancing his reputation as one of Africa’s most talented midfielders. His technical quality, creativity, composure on the ball and ability to influence matches attracted widespread praise as the Atlas Lions enjoyed another memorable World Cup campaign.
Despite his enthusiasm to begin life in Germany, Bayern have confirmed that Saïbari will not report for the start of the club’s pre-season training next week. Instead, the midfielder has been granted additional time off following his demanding World Cup commitments with the Moroccan national team.
The Bundesliga champions believe the extended break will allow the player to recover fully before returning to Munich to begin preparations for the new season.
Once he rejoins the squad, Saibari is expected to integrate into Vincent Kompany’s plans as Bayern prepare to compete for Bundesliga glory, the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League.
With his move now complete and his first visit to the club behind him, Saibari can begin looking ahead to the next chapter of his career, one that he hopes will include a memorable debut at the Allianz Arena and a successful spell with one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
