Morocco squad for Gabon and Lesotho qualifiers to be announced on Thursday

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation will announce Morocco’s squad for their opening two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches on Thursday.

Morocco head coach Mohamed Wahbi will hold a news conference at the Mohammed VI Football Complex to reveal the players selected for the fixtures against Gabon and Lesotho. The press conference will begin at 11:00 GMT+1 in the complex’s conference room.

Morocco begin their qualifying campaign against Gabon on Friday 25 September at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The match will be the first of their two scheduled games in the opening round of the African qualifiers.

Wahbi’s side will then travel to Bloemfontein in South Africa to face Lesotho on 29 September in the second round of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation confirmed the timing of the squad announcement on Monday, with Wahbi now set to select the group of players he will rely on for the start of Morocco’s route towards the continental tournament.
