Morocco: RS Berkane claim dramatic victory over Union Touarga in seven-goal thriller

RS Berkane secured a dramatic 4-3 victory against Union Touarga in an entertaining Botola Pro D1 “Inwi” encounter that produced seven goals and a late winner.

The match, played on Thursday as part of the 19th round of the Moroccan top flight, saw Berkane recover from repeated setbacks before eventually sealing victory in the closing moments.

A decisive strike from Zineddine Machach in the 89th minute completed a tense evening and ensured all three points for the home side.

The visitors eventually found another equaliser in the 81st minute through Mehdi Eshabi, who scored his second goal of the evening to make it 3-3 and set up a tense finish.

At that stage, the momentum appeared to be shifting once more in favour of Union Touarga, who had successfully fought back twice during the match.

But Berkane continued pushing forward in search of victory and found the decisive breakthrough in the closing stages.

Machach scored in the 89th minute to secure a dramatic win for the home side and complete one of the most entertaining matches of the Botola season.

The victory provides an important boost for RS Berkane as they continue their campaign in the upper half of the league standings.

For Union Touarga, the defeat will be difficult to accept after twice recovering during the match and coming close to leaving with a valuable point.
