Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), emphasized the commitment of Morocco toward the advancement of football during the General Assembly of the Federation held Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Speaking from the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Lekjaa noted the recent international successes of the country, attributing them to good governance structures, solid infrastructure, and determined national teams.
Moroccan football has come closer to share the spoils of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal.
Before that, the country will host other major competitions, namely: U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, the Women Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, U-17 Women World Cup, and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, culminating into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations played in nine world-class stadiums.
Also, the next five editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will take place in Morocco.
Lekjaa highlighted the immense role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in this quest and called upon all stakeholders to commit to the successful realization of these projects.
During the assembly, amendments to the crucial Disciplinary and Competition Regulations and the National Chamber for Dispute Resolution system were adopted.
With Morocco’s continued ascent within global football, the FRMF will ensure the sustainability of the country’s position as an eminent footballing nation.
