Just days before the commencement of the Club World Cup, Raja Casablanca has finalized its coaching situation. The Moroccan club had been facing challenges in securing a coach, but the management committee announced on Wednesday that Faouzi Benzarti has been appointed to the position.
Benzarti, a Tunisian technician, takes over from M’hamed Fakhir, who departed the team two weeks prior to the competition. The new coach is set to arrive in Casablanca on Monday to assume his responsibilities. Raja Casablanca kicks off their Club World Cup campaign with the opening match against Auckland City from New Zealand.
Despite earlier speculations about another Tunisian technician, Nabil Maaloul, joining Raja, he ultimately decided to remain a consultant for the Al Jazeera channel, paving the way for Benzarti to take charge of the Moroccan club.
