Mouhcine Iajour Called Up to Join Morocco Squad Ahead of AFCON Preparations
Good news has arrived for Raja Casablanca striker Mouhcine Iajour, who has been officially called up to join the Moroccan national team. Initially left out of the squad for the team’s training camp in Portugal, Iajour has now been selected by head coach Badou Zaki to reinforce the Atlas Lions ahead of upcoming friendlies.
The forward is expected to report to the national team base in Faro on May 26th, joining the rest of the squad as they continue their preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco is set to host the tournament in January, and the training camp is a key phase in Zaki’s plans to fine-tune his roster.
Iajour’s inclusion is seen as a timely boost for the squad, given his consistent performances with Raja Casablanca. His call-up reflects Zaki’s intent to evaluate all available talent before finalising his squad for the continental showdown.
Morocco will play a series of friendly matches during the camp, giving Iajour and other players a chance to prove their form and fitness ahead of the tournament.
