Moroccan international Ismail Saibari delivered a decisive performance to help PSV Eindhoven secure victory over FC Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie.
The enterprising midfielder played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet, contributing to his outfit 2-1 away victory over their opponent on Sunday.
The home side started the match confidently and imposed their rhythm in the first half. Fellow Moroccan player, Moroccan Younes Taha gave Groningen the lead in the 37th minute, capitalizing on a clear opportunity inside the penalty area, as the host went to the break with the advantage.
After the break, the game changed. Saïbari emerged as the standout player, leveling the score in the 65th minute with a goal that showcased his attacking prowess and effective movement between the lines.
Saïbari’s brilliance didn’t end with his goal. He continued to influence the outcome by setting up the winning goal in the 76th minute, providing a precise pass to his teammate Dennis Mann, who converted it into the net, sealing PSV’s comeback.
With this goal, Sebari raised his tally to 11 goals this season, climbing to third place in the Dutch league’s top scorers list and narrowing the gap with the leader, while PSV Eindhoven strengthened their lead with 59 points, compared to 31 points for Groningen in the standings.
