Olympique Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi is reportedly unsure about accepting a summer transfer to Russian side Spartak Moscow, despite a lucrative offer on the table.
According to reports, Marseille have reached an agreement with Spartak Moscow over the Morocco international’s transfer, with a proposed fee of €12 million.
However, Ounahi is said to be hesitant about the move.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Greek side Panathinaikos, where he rediscovered his form, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 37 appearances.
His impressive performances have also drawn interest from English Premier League club Brighton, while Panathinaikos are reportedly keen to retain him permanently.
While Spartak Moscow have taken the most concrete step by striking a deal with Marseille, Ounahi is still considering his options, particularly given the significant salary increase involved in the Russian offer.
Meanwhile, reports in the French media also suggest that Ounahi remains unconvinced about joining the Russian Premier League.
If the deal does go through, former club Angers stands to benefit from a 30% share of the transfer fee.
Ounahi joined Marseille from Angers in January 2023, shortly after his standout performances helped Morocco reach the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
